Time flies...

... when you're working :) okay, so looking back on these pictures I realize that it's been a very long time since I've updated this blog. And now it's almost too daunting to start. but I will. And hopefully at least one person will read it! Work has been going really well. Somedays are a bit slow, and those are the days I don't like too much but overall it's good. I'm still working at Environment Canterbury (and for the first 3 weeks or so of working there I called it Environment Canada. haha). I'm a temp but I'm working in the consents department and have real work to do. Basically anyone that wants to do anything with any natural resource (land, water, air) has to get a consent (permit) to do it. I've mostly been doing the transfers of these consents (i.e. if someone has a permit to take and use water from a well and they sell that land, they have to transfer the permit to the new owners). it's not exactly riviting work but it's good, and the people I work with are a lot of fun so that helps - definitely not a career move though! :)
I also moved about a month ago. I couldn't stay at the house in Sumner anymore, and wanted to move somewhere a little closer to downtown so I did! I live with 4 others in a brand new house, and one of them is from Victoria! haha. They're great and it's been fun getting to know some other people here.
Anyways enough writing. These are some pictures of when I went to Akaroa by myself one weekend when Candice was gone and left me her car. It was my first adventure driving by myself in this country! It was fun and Akaroa is so beautiful. It's a beach village that was originally settled by the French. The water, once again is beautiful, and it seems that whenever anyone comes to visit us this is where we take them! (it's close) :) It's about an hour and a half outside of the city, in the Bank Penninsula.
